A CLASS 1 hitch is rated for a gross trailer weight of less than 2,000 lbs with a tongue weight not to exceed 200 lbs. Almost all passenger cars and light trucks are rated to pull a class 1 load.
The BANTAM® typically weighs less than 1,200 lbs. completely loaded and falls within class 1.

A CLASS 3 hitch is rated for a gross trailer weight of less than 5,000 lbs. with a tongue weight not to exceed 500 lbs. All domestic 1/2 ton pickup trucks and many SUV's are rated to pull a class 2 load.
Our 12' MCI trailer typically falls within the class 3 range but is light enough for 1/2 ton tow vehicles.

A CLASS 4 hitch is rated for a gross trailer weight of less than 12,000 lbs. with a tongue weight not to exceed 1,200 lbs. All domestic 3/4 ton pickup trucks and some larger SUV's equipped with a tow package are rated to pull a class 4 load.
None of our MCI trailers exceed CLASS 4 rating and most can be safely pulled by a domestic 3/4 ton pickup or SUV rated for towing, A 1-ton truck with dual rear wheels is preferred for stability.

Our 20' MCI trailer typically falls within the CLASS 4 range but we recommend a 1- ton truck with dual rear wheels be used as the tow vehicle for stability.

Gooseneck and 5th Wheel type trailers are rated for a GVW of 24,000 with the tongue weight not to exceed 6,250 lbs. Many 1 ton trucks equipped with a tow package are rated to pull Gooseneck or 5th wheel trailers. |
